About Warranties

Your mattress warranty is a commitment by the manufacturer that your mattress will retain certain performance qualities over a specific period of time. The warranty also spells out what they will do if your mattress does not live up to this commitment. Warranties are either prorated, meaning that depending on how long you’ve owned the mattress you may bear part of the cost of replacement, or non-prorated meaning that the manufacturer will replace the entire mattress. As you compare mattresses, take the time to read through the warranty for each manufacturer.

Back to Bed only provides mattress products that have a minimum 1-3 year full (non-prorated) warranty. It is important that a mattress has at least a one year full warranty because if a mattress component were to fail it will happen in the first 6 to 12 months of use.

It is important to have some length as mentioned above but anything beyond 10 years generally not needed. Most of the products Back to Bed sells come with a 10 year non-prorated warranty.

A Word of Caution:
You should be cautious of companies that use exaggerated warranty periods to sell their mattresses.  A mattress with a 25 year warranty may have a usable life (comfort-life) of only 3 years.  In contrast a mattress with a 10 year warranty may have a comfort life of 8-10 years.
