Purchasing a mattress or other sleep related product isn't something most people do even every year.  Many of our customers purchased a mattress more than 10 years ago.  So it is understandable that some find buying a mattress confusing, since it's been so long and there have been so many advancements to the products. 

At Back To Bed we try to simplify the buying process and make it easy for you.  We offer deliveries in flexible and convenient time frames.  We have the most experienced staff in the business today, averaging 9 years in the bedding industry.  Our stores are easy to find, simply decorated, and uncluttered to provide a relaxed environment to try your new mattress.  Our products are the most highly researched and highest quality available today.

Q: Where are Back To Bed's Stores?
A:

We currently have nearly 50 stores in Northern Illinois, Chicago-land, and Southern Wisconsin. Check out our store locations page to find one near you.  Store Locator Page

Q: What are the payment options Back To Bed offers?
A:

Back To Bed accepts Cash, Checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and offers two types of financing.

Q: What are the most important features of a quality mattress?
A:

The three top factors that create a quality mattress are comfort, support, and durability. The three main features that are needed to have great comfort, support, and durability are: 1.) Resilient upholstery materials that are pressure-relieving 2.) No filler materials that create false loft, are not durable, and cause early breakdown 3.) Ample support structure to maintain stability and support

Q: If I order a mattress online in the Chicago do I pay sales taxes?
A:

Yes, you would have to pay taxes. Companies have to pay sales taxes to the state of Illinois when they sell something in Illinois and have business establishments in Illinois.

Delivery Questions

Q: What times and days do you offer delivery?
A:

At Back To Bed we want your shopping experience to be as easy as possible, so we are very flexible with delivery times.  

However, normally we offer 3 hour time windows.  We normally deliver everyday except for Wednesdays and Sundays.  We do have a special same-day truck for Wednesdays and Sundays however.    

Our normal delivery schedule:

  • Monday - Morning, afternoon, and evening deliveries (includes after 6pm)
  • Tuesday - Morning and afternoon deliveries
  • Wednesday - Special request deliveries
  • Thursday -  Morning, afternoon, and evening deliveries (includes after 6pm)
  • Friday - Morning, afternoon, and early evening deliveries
  • Saturday - Morning and afternoon deliveries
  • Sunday - Special request deliveries

Q: Do you take back old mattresses?
A:

Of course, we usually take back old mattresses from our customer's house. It is a free service included with delivery. We hate to see mattresses just sent to a land fill when they could be recycled or reused.

Q: What does delivery include?
A:

For Northern Illinois, Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin we offer free delivery, setup, and removal of an old mattress set.

Q: How do you deliver mattresses across the United States?
A:

For deliveries outside of our normal operation zone, we either can delivery it ourselves for a delivery fee depending on the distance OR if it's too far we arrange delivery through a delivery service near you. This costs you $200. (We match any competitors price however) Additionally, our miForma memory foam mattresses can ship UPS since they are compressed at the manufacturers and rolled tightly into tubes.

Q: If I place an online order, when do I get my delivery?
A:

If you live in the greater Chicago area, we offer delivery as soon as next day depending on when you order the product and if the products are in stock. At the latest we will call you to schedule delivery the day after you place the order. If you want to schedule immediately, call one of our store locations and they can facilitate a phone order. For customers outside of the Chicago area, we take about 10-14 days from when you place the order.

Q: I need to change my delivery date. Who do I contact?
A:

Please contact our customer service department at 630-931-4602 OR the store you purchase from. You can locate the store's phone number via our Store Locator.

Q: Do you deliver to Northwest Indiana? What are your delivery fees?
A:

We delivery the next day to northwest Indiana. Delivery is either free or $50 to northwest Indiana depending on your mattress selection.

Q: If I order online how long until I get my delivery?
A:

We call you within 24 hours to schedule your delivery or you can call us to schedule the order during customer service hours (9am-5pm Mon-Sat) at 630-931-4602. Next day delivery is available as long as we can confirm the day and time with you.

Q: Is delivery free?
A:

Delivery is free for many of our models when they are being delivered to our local service area. That includes Southern Wisconsin, Chicago-land, and Northwest Indiana.

Some of our less expensive models do not include delivery and there are delivery fees for deliveries outside of our local service area.

Q: What is the minimum price for free delivery?
A:

Free Delivery, Setup, and removal are included with mattress purchases over $599!

Q: Hi, do you deliver outside of the United States?
A:

For International deliveries please call 888-945-5949. Some restrictions apply.

Mattress Questions

Q: What size mattresses do you carry?
A:

We can special order mattresses of any dimension if you happen to have a unique bed, such as an antique bed or semi bed.

Q: Do I use a box spring with a Tempurpedic mattress? Can I use my current headboard, footboard and frame?
A:

Tempur-Pedic has a very sturdy foundation that replaces a box spring. We recommend that a new heavy duty bed frame is used with Tempur-Pedic because it is a heavier mattress and foundation than mattresses in the past. Your existing headboard and footboard should be OK to use with a new frame.

Q: I purchased a new mattress and have back pain only in the morning. Is this normal and what can I do?
A:

Switching to a new mattress is a big change for your body. A new mattress offers much better support for your body. Experiencing stiffness or pain in the morning is a common affect of this change to your bodies environment and is usually normal while your body adjusts to your new mattress. That being said, if back pain persists you should seek the opinion of a physician.

Q: Should a mattress be rotated top to bottom; how often?
A:

Many manufacturer's of mattresses recommend that you rotate your mattress seasonally. This includes Simmons and Beautyrest.

Store Questions

Q: What are your store hours?
A:

All of our store's are open:

  • Mon - Thurs. - 10am to 8:30pm
  • Friday - 10am to 8pm
  • Saturday - 10am to 6pm
  • Sunday - 11am to 5:30pm
If you have immediate needs for a mattress, we do offer same-day deliveries 7 days a week or mattresses for pick-up. 

Q: Can I setup automatic payments with your financing options?
A:

Yes, Automatic Payments may be setup with a Wells Fargo account. For more information please visit https://financial.wellsfargo.com/

Q: Do you remove furniture other than old mattress?
A:

We remove and recycle the mattress and box spring for customers upon request of our delivery team. For other furniture, please make prior arrangements for disassembly and disposal.
